Is anybody melting yet? The summer heat can be absolutely brutal for us…and for your homes exterior. It is important to pay attention to the exterior of your home to ensure you are heading off any potential problems. Neglected exteriors can be VERY costly so it’s better catch the issues early. Here are some tips:
Do a quick survey of the exterior of your home.
Check gutters and downspouts, shingles, brick, foundation, and windows. If you see damages, wear and tear, etc, it might be time for replacement or to get it check out further.
Check for water damage.
You will have to check inside and outside for roof leaks and damage around window sills. Don’t forget to check (or have checked) where the gutters are attached to the house.
Pay attention to sun/heat damage.
If your siding or roofing looks faded or warped you may need to do some replacement/repair.
Keeping an eye out for these things can save you some time and money in the long run. Your home is one of your largest investments so it pays to be vigilant!
